I. God is Patient with His Beloved Children!
"God is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9
"God our Savior wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:3-4
II. Jesus passionately seeks His fallen creation.
"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost" Luke 19:10
"In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost" Matthew 18:14
III. Jesus meets fallen humanity in the midst of their fears and offers them peace!
"On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" John 20:19
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1
IV. Jesus offers to each of us three kinds of Peace.
Peace with our Father in Heaven--Reconciliation through the Cross of Calvary.
Peace with others--We can offer forgiveness to others as we have first been forgiven.
Peace with ourselves- "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" 1 John 3:1
V. Jesus has given to His Church the Keys of the Kingdom
"Jesus breathed on the disciples and said, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.' John 20:22
"Jesus said, 'I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed heaven.'" Matthew 16:19
VI. As Christians, when we gather in His presence; we confess our sins and receive His divine absolution.
Forgiveness is rooted in Christ alone.
Our sins are removed from us as far as the east is from the west. Psalm 103
God is faithful to hear us and forgive us. 1 John 1
