Emmanuel Lutheran Youth Ministry
About Us: ELCS Youth's goal is to create a fun and safe place for students to make connections with other students, engage and ask questions about their faith, and learn what it means to serve in their community. All 6th-12th grade students are welcome to come.
What's Going On?
The Appalachian Servant Event has been cancelled for this summer as a result of the virus pandemic.
Opportunities (ON HOLD DURING THE PANDEMIC)
SNL - Sunday Night Life takes place on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00p. During SNL students can expect to have lots of fun, have time to get to know other young Christians, and grow in their faith together. Typically, there is a fun fellowhsip event, food, and devotion and prayer time. (These meetings are currently postponed until further notice due to COVID-19 restrictions)
Service - Service is an essential piece of the faith life of a Christ follower. ELCS partners with the the Western Carolina Rescue Mission and ABCCM to provide opportunties for service. This fall and winter, students will be helping serve in the community with the Rescue Mission and serving meals to the homeless.
Retreats - A long tradition at ELCS has been going to Whisper Mountain Retreat Center. Whisper Mountain offers a great program for youth to have fun and experience God through lots of outdoor activities and fun group building experiences.
Sunday School - On Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45 Sunday School is offered. For 6th-8th grade students Confirmation takes place at this time and for high schoolers a class is offered each Sunday.
